PGA REACH Southern Texas May Recap
PGA of America REACH Foundation Southern Texas is a 501(c)3 organization focused on impacting lives and communities through the transformative power of golf. Best known as PGA REACH Southern Texas, the Foundation was formed in 1994 and annually impacts thousands of individuals.
Our Foundation stands on four pillars: junior golf, college scholarships, PGA HOPE, & employment opportunities. By focusing on these pillars, PGA REACH Southern Texas strives to uplift, inspire, and empower individuals to reach their full potential.
PGA HOPE
INCREDIBLE IMPACT NOT EVEN HALFWAY THROUGH THE YEAR!
We are not even through the first half of 2024 and we have already conducted and started 30 PGA HOPE Sessions across Southern Texas with the help of our amazing PGA of America Members. From these sessions we have impacted the lives of over 320 Veterans and Active Duty Service Members.
We are excited to keep this momentum going and continue to save lives through the game of golf!

PGA HOPE SPOTLIGHT: NICK TRICE, PGA
PGA Director of Instruction, Nick Trice, finds inspiration in individuals striving for personal and communal growth.
Golf has taught Nick the value of grace, mindfulness, and detachment. Through the game, he learned that success comes not from force, but from a subtle mindset and ease of movement. In Nick, we find a passionate, devoted, and patient leader, dedicated to spreading the joy of golf and creating meaningful connections through PGA HOPE.

JUNIOR GOLF
DICK HARMON PARTICIPATION GRANT
The goal of the Southern Texas PGA and PGA REACH Southern Texas is to introduce our area's youngsters to the challenges and rewards of golf. Started by the Harmon Family in honor of Dick Harmon, PGA REACH Southern Texas has created the Dick Harmon Participation Grant program to help provide top-flight golf opportunities to young men and women regardless of financial resources.
The final Dick Harmon Grant Application period for 2024 will open on June 10th and close on June 24th. To learn more about the grant and access the application, please click the button below!
MORE THAN 9,500 JUNIOR GOLF ROUNDS PLAYED SO FAR
Between all four of our Junior Golf tours, STPGA Junior golfers have played 9,514 rounds of golf just through May!
As we continue into the summer, we can't wait to see all our Junior Golfers out on the course and at the STPGA Junior Championship in August at the Woodlands Country Club.

COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS
ANOTHER RECORD BREAKING YEAR!
The PGA REACH Southern Texas Scholarship Program is excited to announce the awarding of 63 scholarships to 60 individuals to the cumulative amount of $297,500! This amount is a massive increase of $87,000 compared to last year’s program and we are so appreciative of all our partner’s support! These funds will help these 60 young adults continue their academic careers during the 2024-2025 school year!

ONCE IN A LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY FOR TWO SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS
Insperity Invitational Scholarship recipients Benjamin Potter and Jaycee Jenkins were honored at the Players Dinner held in conjunction with the Insperity Invitational. Among the guests for the event, some notable names included Jack Nicklaus, Lee Trevino, Gary Player, and more.
